Those of you in London and the south of England should keep their eyes on the skies next week, for the Goodyear Blimp is returning. Goodyear tells us that the Blimp will be above the London area on 11 and 12 May. From there, it will travel to Brands Hatch for the second round of the British Touring Car Championship on 14 and 15 May, where it will provide aerial coverage of the race.

After their transformation at the automotive tuner’s facility in Aachen, Germany, AC Schitzer BMW M3s are reputedly the most powerful examples of the model ever made. This oomph meets the road via the Continental SportContact 7. AC Schnitzer kits out the M3 with the tyre in size 285/30 R20 at the front and 295/30 R20 on the drive axle, each on its own lightweight forged rim.

The results reflect the broad choice presently available to tyre buyers, with the test experts rating 41 of the products – including some affordably-priced models – as very good or even outstanding tyres. At the other end of the scale, they declined to recommend 16 tyres altogether.

Sharing the results of both its main summer 2022 test of 50 tyres and the performance-oriented Auto Bild Sportscars tyre test, European publication Auto Bild wrote that the days of Chinese-made tyres failing such tests due to outdated technology are well and truly behind us. The magazine’s tyre testers were particularly impressed about one product from China and look forward to pitting it against the competition at a later date.
