Auto Bild Sportscars argues there is no alternative to “genuine summer tyres” for those wanting “to get the best possible performance out of a sports car on the asphalt,” at least in the warmer months of the year. But UK summers are a fleeting phenomenon, and tyres that deliver top performance in warm weather can struggle on winter roads. All-season tyres offer a practical alternative; the performance motoring publication has tested ten products in 225/45 R18.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS – the most race-focused member of the new Eagle F1 SuperSport range – has been homologated for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and 911 GT3 RS. The approved dimensions are 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL for the front axle and 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL for the rear. Both tyres wear Porsche’s ‘N0’ original equipment identifier marking on the sidewall and will be sold through Porsche’s dealer network.
