Falken film shows the challenge of chasing the perfect lap

Falken has released a new short film, The Perfect Lap, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the tyre brand’s latest Nürburgring 24 Hours campaign.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours is one of the toughest races in the world. Drivers race through the day and night on the famous Nordschleife, a long and demanding circuit often known as the “Green Hell”. Falken returned to the event for the 27th time in 2026, continuing a motorsport story that began there in 1999.

The new film follows the team’s effort to find speed, consistency and reliability across the race weekend. Falken says leading teams usually need more than 150 clean laps to fight for victory, so every pit stop, tyre choice and lap matters.

The Perfect Lap was made with FORMAT67, a production company specialising in automotive films. The crew spent six days filming in the studio and around the Nordschleife, including close-up tracking shots of Falken’s Porsche 911 GT3 R on circuit.

Falken also says the film was made without artificial intelligence, from filming to post-production. Instead, the company wanted to rely on real footage to capture the sound, speed and pressure of the race.

Dennis Wilstermann, marketing manager at Dunlop Tyre Europe GmbH, said the aim was to give the film a “classic, premium look” while showing the special atmosphere of the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Evropi Dionysiadou, brand communications specialist at Dunlop Tyre Europe GmbH, said the idea was to show precision, passion, teamwork and the effort needed to get the best possible performance, lap after lap.

Falken says its racing experience feeds into its road tyre development for cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles. For many viewers, however, The Perfect Lap is simply a chance to see what makes the Nürburgring 24 Hours such a demanding and dramatic race.
