The Michelin Crossclimate is Michelin's pioneering and award-winning year-round tyre. Designed to maintain mobility during snowfall, this tyre still performs well during the heat of summer. In order words, the CrossClimate runs in the opposite direction to many all-season tyres because it is based on summer-tyre thinking, while offering cold-weather performance in many less than severe, less than frequent winter contexts rather than the other way around.
In 2019, the Michelin CrossClimate SUV was rated number one in AutoBild’s intensive SUV all-season test.
After being evaluated by three independent European testing organisations – TÜV SÜD, Dekra Test Centre and UTAC CERAM – the CrossClimate tyre obtained Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) approval, meaning it can be used in countries that require special winter equipment at clearly defined times of the year.
The CrossClimate has been well received by fleets which need to reach their destination whatever the weather. British Gas, for example, is fitting the CrossClimate to all 13,000 of its vans.
According to one well-known online tyre retailer, "the Michelin Cross Climate SUV is a tyre that is ready for every weather condition, designed specifically for SUV type vehicles."
