The Hankook Ventus Prime 3 offers a very balanced summer tyre for many of the most popular cars. Popular both with car manufacturers and independent tyre testers, the tyre is designed to offer precise steering, high levels of grip, and a long tread life.
Hankook’s Ventus Prime 3 is designed for balance between performance, comfort and safety. The tyre contains a new high grip silica compound which benefits from a new mixing technology to improve wet braking performance by 8%, while also reducing rolling resistance. Four circumferential grooves in the tread pattern help to remove water more effectively from the tread, improving its wet weather control characteristics. Hankook has minimised trade-offs between wet and dry performance in the Ventus Prime 3 thanks to the positioning of individual lateral groove depths.
The asymmetric tyre’s tread pattern has enlarged its contact patch by 10%. Alongside the tread design itself, this helps the tyre also deliver a superior dry handling performance. Wear resistance is 9% better than the predecessor tyre thanks to a new tread compound. Additionally Hankook equips the tyre with a state-of-the-art, lightweight rayon casing, a wide steel belt layer, and a high stiffness bead filler. These features contribute to better handling, more precise steering response and a high level of controllability, even at high speeds.
Exterior noise is reduced by a combination of an optimised pitch design, improvements to the angles at which the lateral tread grooves are positioned, and an “anti-air resistance” sidewall. And to combat uneven wear, the Ventus Prime³ features the Visual Alignment Indicator (VAI) system found on all Hankook Ventus products. This shoulder-based feature provides drivers with a straightforward method of checking wheel alignment.
