Auto Bild, one of Europe’s best known motoring publications, has named its tyre brands of the year. It asked readers to vote for their most trusted brands in all areas of the automotive sector, and for tyres they could elect firms in the categories of Quality and Price/Performance. For the past seven consecutive years German tyre brand Continental had taken first place in both – but not in 2025.
The home favourite once again topped the podium in the Quality Category, with Continental gaining almost 74.8 per cent of the vote, ahead of Michelin, the brand chosen by some 67.6 per cent of Auto Bild readers. Goodyear finished in third place with just under 62.0 per cent of readers selecting the brand.
But this year the Auto Bild readers didn’t hand Continental its usual double win. In 2025, Hankook managed to snatch first place in the Price/Performance category, with 40.9 per cent voting for the Korean brand – just one-tenth of a percent ahead of Continental. Goodyear finished in third place again, with 34.9 per cent.
