Auto Bild Sportscars argues there is no alternative to “genuine summer tyres” for those wanting “to get the best possible performance out of a sports car on the asphalt,” at least in the warmer months of the year. But UK summers are a fleeting phenomenon, and tyres that deliver top performance in warm weather can struggle on winter roads. All-season tyres offer a practical alternative; the performance motoring publication has tested ten products in 225/45 R18.

Hankook supplies UUHP tyres for Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé

The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé comes equipped with Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z tyres as original fitment. These bespoke ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) tyres feature a modified tread pattern and compound to ensure the 585 hp (430 kW) car achieves "maximum grip even in extreme driving conditions." This marks the first partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Hankook, with the tyre maker's M01 (Mercedes-AMG Original) symbol proudly displayed on the tyre's sidewall.
