Better alternative – Auto Bild Sportscars tests all-season tyres

Auto Bild Sportscars argues there is no alternative to “genuine summer tyres” for those wanting “to get the best possible performance out of a sports car on the asphalt,” at least in the warmer months of the year. But UK summers are a fleeting phenomenon, and tyres that deliver top performance in warm weather can struggle on winter roads. All-season tyres offer a practical alternative; the performance motoring publication has tested ten products in 225/45 R18.

Pirelli highlights new P Zero with horsepower-heavy Goodwood parade

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is now behind us for another year, and Pirelli is looking back over a spectacular 2025 event. The tyre maker marked the opening of proceedings with a parade of supercars boasting a combined output of over 10,000 horsepower. Guest of honour at this outing was the new, fifth-generation Pirelli P Zero tyre, but the event also held high a family of tyres that have been heavy hitters in the ultra-high performance (UHP) segment for the past 40 years.

Test win underscores all-season commitment, says Goodyear

The recent ADAC all-season tyre test highlighted the ‘good’ in Goodyear, and the tyre maker is very happy with the result its Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 achieved. A year after becoming the first all-season product to gain a ‘good’ rating in an ADAC comparative evaluation, the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 returned to take joint first in the motoring club’s 2025 all-season tyre test.

JLR claims industry first with high renewable/recyclable content tyres

JLR will be the first in the industry to introduce at scale tyres containing more than 70 per cent renewable and recycled materials such as silica from rice husks and plant-based resins. The vehicle maker has collaborated with Pirelli to develop a JLR-specific version of the new P Zero. This tyre will the standard fit on select Range Rover models equipped with 22-inch wheels from this year ahead of a wider roll-out across other models and brands.

Testing shows Michelin best for tyre particle reduction

German motoring association ADAC has evaluated tyre abrasion, and the results show that Michelin products performed particularly well. The tyre maker comments that these results “illustrate the innovative efforts made by Michelin to offer tyres that perform throughout their lives, combining excellent lifespan, reduced particle emissions, and minimum raw material consumption.”
