“We launched our first Cross Country car more than 25 years ago, and this concept of durable and all-weather cars is core to the Volvo brand,” said Volvo Cars’ CEO Jim Rowan, adding: “In Sweden we face harsh winters, but we also like to make the most of them by getting out and exploring our amazing nature, even when it’s minus 20 Celsius outside. That’s why we want to deliver a fully rounded experience, not simply a car, to our EX30 Cross Country customers.” For that you need high-performing tyres.
No official announcement as to who is supplying the tyres has been made, but the new EX30 Cross Country can been seen on 235/50 R19 Michelin X-Ice North 4 SUV tyres for its launch in “a secluded winter cabin in the north of Sweden”.
That makes a change from the 20-inch tyres from the Goodyear Efficient Grip range that can be seen on the EX30 single and twin-engine variations. The only other reference to tyres in the official literature is the that the discounted ‘Cross Country Experience’ package of accessories includes “a load carrier, a roof basket” and “18-inch all-terrain tyres”.
