Halfords is offering its Ten Point Car Check to all NHS frontline workers during the Coronavirus pandemic. The check, fo which Halfords normally charges £15, includes top-ups of tyre inflation, screen wash and checks on oil levels, headlights and brake lights.
A Halfords poll of 1,139 nurses in the last 24 hours found that 72 per cent rely on their vehicles to get to and from work, while 25 per cent said their car suffers from a number of defects.
Graham Stapleton, Halfords CEO says: “Now more than ever workers in the NHS need our help and support. Our research shows how vital their cars are in getting to and from work, so we want to do our bit and help the extraordinary healthcare workers who are doing an incredibly trying job at the most difficult of times.”
To redeem the offer NHS frontline workers will just need to show their NHS Staff ID card to any colleague at a Halfords or Halfords Autocentres.
Halfords also offers motorists checks to their cars at home, which could be helpful to those recuperating or self-isolating because of COVID-19, through its Halfords Mobile Expert and Tyres On The Drive brands. The company is also making its mobile offer available as a contactless transaction.
