The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS – the most race-focused member of the new Eagle F1 SuperSport range – has been homologated for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and 911 GT3 RS. The approved dimensions are 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL for the front axle and 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL for the rear. Both tyres wear Porsche’s ‘N0’ original equipment identifier marking on the sidewall and will be sold through Porsche’s dealer network.
The Eagle F1 SuperSport RS marks Goodyear’s return to the Ultra Ultra High Performance (UUHP) market segment. It developed the tyre specifically for Porsche Motorsport, with a brief to facilitate record performance on track.
Goodyear comments that Porsche Motorsport’s usage remit for the GT2 RS was “particularly challenging”. It required the tyres to transmit 700 hp and 750 Nm through the wheel wheels with optimal efficiency, a challenge compounded by peak torque arriving from just 2500 rpm.
“The list of tyres truly competitive in these conditions is short,” says Goodyear’s Nick Harley. “For the Eagle F1 SuperSport RS to receive the praise it has from a manufacturer with as relentless a pursuit of improvement as Porsche, truly reflects how far Goodyear has moved the UUHP segment on.”
