Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has opened the order books for prospective ID. Buzz owners in the UK and provided information about the tyres these all-electric campervans will wear. UK customers can choose from three trim levels: Life, Style and 1st Edition. Depending on model, they will receive either Continental or Hankook tyres as standard equipment.
The entry-level Life wears 19-inch rims and 235/60 R19 105T (front) and 255/50 R19 107T (rear) tyres as standard, while the Style rolls on 20-inch rims and 235/50 R20 104T XL (front) and 265/45 R20 108T XL (rear) tyres. Both of these models wear Continental EcoContact 6 Q tyres.
The flagship 1st Edition version of the Volkswagen campervan comes with 21-inch rims as standard. These are paired with HL 235/45 R21 104T XL (front) and HL 265/40 R21 108T XL (rear) tyres. According to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, these 21-inch original equipment tyres are Hankook products, however it has not as yet named the specific tyre model.
All ID. Buzz original equipment tyres feature what VW calls ‘Airstop’, its name for sealing technology such as that respectively marketed by Continental and Hankook under the ContiSeal and Sealguard names.
