Tyres have been made into many things over the years. However, creating luxury bracelets from a tyre used by Ayrton Senna during the 1993 F1 Grand Prix race at Donington Park is a new one.
The limited-edition range of 161 bracelets are made from a Goodyear tyre mounted to the McLaren MP4/8 Senna drove to victory in the 1993 English Grand Prix. 161 items were made to honour the number of Formula One races Ayrton Senna completed.
Worldwide sales of 41 exclusive bracelets are already underway. The number 41 represents the total number of Ayrton Senna F1 victories. As of 7 December, the bracelets are available at La Joaillerie, within the luxurious Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo. Beginning on 12 December at 12AM, 12 unique pieces will be on-sale online. Of course, the number 12 accompanied Senna on board his Lotus in 1985 and also the McLaren with which he won his first world championship in 1988.
The Mongrip bracelets were made in a patented process. Therefore, each bracelet is exclusive by definition. In addition to the F1 tyre provenance, the bracelets feature luxury details like 18-carat gold trims.
There’s no doubt that the bracelets are exclusive, but they are also expensive. Each Senna bracelet costs 4,400 euros. Don’t worry though, delivery is included.
