Chinese automotive firm XPeng has officially arrived in the UK, and the line-up it showed off during the launch event included the eVTOL X2. Billed as a flying car, this particular vehicle has – bad news for us – no wheels or tyres. To our considerable relief, the sole XPeng model presently on offer in the UK does come with these rubbery appendages, and it appears that XPeng favours a particular European tyre brand.
The company’s first right hand drive model is the XPeng G6. UK deliveries begin in March, with customers able to choose from standard and long-range versions. Prices start at a whisker under £40,000.
XPeng doesn’t specifically talk tyres on its UK website but launch and other promotional imagery shows the SUV wearing Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres. And this is the sole fitment that XPeng offers in European markets, with both models gaining Michelin tyres in size 255/45R20.
