Toyota Motor Corporation has picked the Toyo Open Country A/T III as the original equipment tyre for its all-new Land Cruiser 250. This rugged vehicle will sport the Open Country A/T III tyres in size 265/70 R18 116H.
The new Land Cruiser made its debut in the Middle East, Japan, and other regions in June, with a European launch expected later this year. In Western Europe, the Land Cruiser 250 will start with a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine. Come 2025, Toyota plans to roll out a mild hybrid electric version in Europe, combining the 2.8-litre diesel engine with a 48V electric motor-generator, a compact 48V lithium-ion battery, and a stop-start system.
High-performance all-terrain tyres
Toyo Open Country A/T III all-terrain tyres are a blend of innovative design and high performance. Using Toyo Tires’ proprietary ‘T-MODE’ technology, the tyre’s tread pattern is engineered to enhance off-road capabilities while ensuring quiet and stable handling on the road.
Expansion into luxury models
It’s not just the Land Cruiser getting the Toyo treatment. Toyota’s luxury brand, Lexus, has also chosen the A/T III as the original equipment tyre for its latest GX model. Marketed as ‘The Premium Offroader,’ the new GX launched in North America and other regions in April. It’s still uncertain if Lexus will bring this model to the UK.
