Pirelli is making preparations for the upcoming winter. In addition to its existing P Zero Winter UHP tyre, Scorpion Winter SUV and crossover range and its Carrier Winter line for vans and light commercial vehicles (not to mention the new Cinturato All Season SF2 all-season tyre), the Italian brand is now introducing a new winter product for medium-sized cars and crossovers – the Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2.
According to Pirelli, the Cinturato Winter 2 offers top performance in snowy and wet conditions, along with a high level of driving comfort.
Its tyre development team utilised advanced virtual reality systems in order to optimise the tread of the Cinturato Winter 2 in order to maximise contact with the road surface. The result, says Pirelli, is a well-balanced tyre. Even contact patch pressure provides greater grip and shorter braking distances in wet and snowy conditions. These qualities simultaneously improve vehicle controllability and driving precision, comments the tyre maker. The tyre’s compound and tread design also work to reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
The Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2 range covers 36 dimensions for 16- to 20-inch rim diameters. Some of these will carry the ‘Elect’ marking, denoting their particular suitability for fitment on electric vehicles.
