The Vredestein Ultrac Pro ultra-high performance summer car tyre will arrive in spring 2024. It is the Apollo Tyres premium brand’s first new summer UHP tyre since the launch of the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti in 2012. Vredestein says the new tyre will offer advanced handling capabilities and superior driving comfort at an accessible price. The Vredestein Ultrac Pro will be available in a wide range of 18-24” sizes. These sizes will be compatible with sportscars, supercars and high-performance saloons, hatchbacks and SUVs.
The all-new Ultrac Pro will feature new structure, tread design and materials. The manufacturer says it “represents a significant step forward from the current Ultrac Vorti+ family of tyres.” The tyre benefits from considerable recent R&D and manufacturing investments by Apollo Tyres, including a virtual prototyping and simulation platform. The tyre is currently in its final phase of real-world testing. Test data and a full size range will be available when the tyre is launched early next year.
The Vredestein Ultrac Pro’s distinctive sidewall design is provided by Italdesign/Giugiaro, the latest in a 25-year collaboration with the brand. Apollo Tyres says it will create “the industry’s first truly asymmetric look”, a distinctive aesthetic that will stand out in an intensely competitive segment.
Benoit Rivallant, president and CEO of Apollo Tyres Europe said: “Vredestein is particularly well known in the all-season tyre segment, but the summer and high-performance categories are increasingly important for us… Developing performance-focused all-season products, including Europe’s first all-season EV tyre, is helping us set new standards in the summer tyre category.” He added that the Ultrac Pro “will redefine expectations in the category” among key performance tyre criteria.
