The Continental winter tyre portfolio has grown with the addition of the WinterContact 8 S. From launch, this new winter tyre for high-performance vehicles will be available in fitments for 19- to 22-inch rim diameters and rated up to W, for speeds as high as 168 mph (270 km/h). All dimensions are EU tyre label ‘B’ rated for rolling resistance.
“Engineered for maximum grip on dry and wet roads, the new WinterContact 8 S has been designed with elite, high-performance cars in mind,” shares Continental. “It therefore delivers supreme dry handling and extremely short braking distances in the dry and wet, allowing drivers to continue making full use of the performance potential of sports cars, sporty everyday cars/SUVs, and high-powered sedans during the winter months. At the same time, it also offers excellent safety on snow-covered winter roads, ensuring drivers are well-equipped for driving throughout the colder months of the year.”
WinterContact 8 joins a winter range that also includes the WinterContact TS 870 and WinterContact TS 870 P. According to Continental, the first of these tyres offers “safe handling in winter for micro to mid-size models” while the second is “the right choice for larger cars from the mid-size segment upwards and for larger SUVs.”
