Goodyear is getting a good sound out of its tyre test trumpet, with several leading European motoring publications and associations favourably rating its tyres in their summer 2025 comparative tests. Four separate tests praised the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and EfficientGrip 2 SUV for their mileage and well-balanced performance. Read details of these tests – and others – on WhatTyre.com.
“Goodyear’s premium summer tyre range strikes the perfect balance between performance, and comfort, while keeping our commitment to sustainability top of mind,” comments Laurent Colantonio, Vice President, Global Quality, Goodyear. “Every Goodyear tyre is developed with a focus on helping drivers to achieve greater mileage and efficiency with every journey, without sacrificing performance. These recognitions reaffirm our commitment to tyre technology that meets modern drivers’ needs while help to support a better future, making our tyres ideal for all kinds of vehicles, including SUVs and electric vehicles.”
Auto Bild honours
Auto Bild, Europe’s most widely read automotive magazine, named Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 ‘Eco-Master 2025’ in its latest summer tyre test. The ultra-high-performance (UHP) tyre, which also earned shared overall Test Winner status, impressed with its combination of performance, class-leading mileage, lowest cost per 1,000 km driven, and minimal external noise. This is the sixth time since 2020 that Auto Bild has awarded Goodyear this prestigious title.
Auto Bild also awarded Goodyear’s EfficientGrip 2 SUV the title of ‘Green Tyre’ in its electric vehicle test, commenting on its “outstanding mileage”. The publication’s EV test assessed eight summer tyres in the popular 215/55R18 size, evaluating wet and dry performance, mileage, cost per mile and rolling resistance. The ‘Green Tire’ award was based on criteria including mileage, coast-down testing, pass-by noise, rolling resistance, EU tyre label ratings, and transport route considerations.
Autozeitung
In its most recent test, Autozeitung also recognised Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 for its excellent performance and class-leading mileage, awarding it an ‘Environmental Recommendation’ and declaring it the overall Test Winner. The magazine described the tyre as “absolutely flawless” and commended its ability to “combine performance and sustainability at the highest level.” Test editors further stated “with the tyre’s fastest [wet] handling time, the Goodyear [tyre] underscores its excellent wet performance. It steers agilely and precisely, and exhibits a sporty, neutral overall setup; strong braking performance; on grippy asphalt, the Goodyear delivers the best results, it consistently builds up enormous grip and remains easily controllable,” adding “top values for wear and mileage, as well as low rolling resistance, strengthen its sustainability.” Overall, they described the tyre as “without any weaknesses,” stating, “it comes out on top [of ten competitors] and also proves to be the most durable tyre.”
ADAC
In its summer 2025 test, ADAC gave the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 a ‘Good’ rating in the environmental performance assessment. The experts at Europe’s largest automobile association commented as follows on the Goodyear tyre: “It delivers good, predicted mileage in the wear test, its abrasion is low, and it also scores highly in terms of efficiency with its low weight and low fuel consumption”.
