A growing minority of campervans are designed for off-road travel, but these need to be paired with the right tyre for the job. General Tire offers the Grabber AT3 and has introduced three new sizes as C-Type tyres and one as a CP-Type.
The C marking denotes that the tyre has a reinforced casing, which indicates that it is particularly suitable for use on trucks, vans, motorhomes, and campers. These specialised tyres are known for their enhanced load-bearing capacity. For instance, a General Tire Grabber AT3 C-Type can withstand loads ranging from 975 kilogrammes (load index 107) to 1,450 kilogrammes (load index 121), depending on the tyre’s dimensions. “These tyres are engineered to exhibit exceptional robustness, a trait that is crucial for bearing the substantial loads imposed by heavy vehicles,” comments General Tire.
The General Tire Grabber AT3 is an all-season tyre designed for use on SUVs, light commercial vehicles, and off-road vehicles. As an all-terrain tyre, the Grabber AT3 offers a combination of off-road capability and safe on-road performance in all weather conditions. It is characterised by its robust construction and aggressive design. Late last year, German trade publication Promobil recognised the Grabber AT3 as its best all-season tyre of 2024.
“With the introduction of the new sizes of the Grabber AT3, we are offering even more flexibility and safety to a wide range of RV enthusiasts, both on and off road,” says Matthias Bartz, Business Development Manager for General Tire in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “Our new sizes fit popular motorhomes such as the Volkswagen T6, Renault Master or Fiat Ducato, as well as classic motorhomes such as the Hymer B-Class.”
