France’s best-selling car is also a vehicle that has sold over 1.1 million units in the UK during the last 33 years. Renault has now facelifted the fifth-generation Clio to give it a “bold, fresh style and added sportiness.” The freshened model is available in the UK in three trim levels, Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine. These are distinguishable by their wheels, for which two tyre sizes and three tyre brands are original equipment.
The top-of-the-range Renault Clio Esprit Alpine features 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Depending on body colour, blue or grey wheel centres enhance the rims’ black and smoky grey finish. The rims are paired with size 205/45 R17 88H tyres, and Renault’s online configurator shows that UK models wear the Continental EcoContact 6 as original equipment. The Continental tyre is also standard in this dimension for the mid-range Renault Clio Techno, which drives on 17-inch monastella alloy wheels that feature grey or black inserts.
Renault’s entry-level Clio in the UK is the Evolution, and this comes with 16-inch boa vista alloy wheels as standard. These rims wear 195/55 R16 87H tyres, and Renault has approved three products as original equipment in this dimension. In addition to the Continental EcoContact 6, the manufacturer has homologated the Bridgestone Turanza T005 and (for petrol-engine versions) Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance.
