The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is available from the factory with Continental tyres. Mercedes-Benz will equip all available drive types – petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid – with EcoContact 6 Q, a tyre that according to Continental offers exceptional efficiency: long service life, low fuel consumption and very low rolling noise.
Continental says it developed the EcoContact 6 Q to provide “exceptionally energy-efficient driving” for vehicles with various drive types and achieved this by employing a rubber compound that reduces energy absorption through the tyre while the vehicle is in motion and, in turn, reduces friction and rolling resistance. The tyre maker also reduced rolling noise by optimising the tread pattern. “EcoContact 6 Q is also characterised by its exceptionally long service life, outstanding braking performance and superior handling – all thanks to its specially modified blocks, sipes and side grooves,” states Continental.
Optional WinterContact TS 850 P
EcoContact 6 Q is a summer tyre and will remain in use throughout the entire year on many vehicles. But for those whose travels require more cold-weather grip, Manufacturer-approved Continental WinterContact TS 850 P tyres are available as a GLC option from Mercedes-Benz dealers. Dealers can also supply EcoContact 6 Q tyres should owners of this compact SUV opt to fit OEM-approved tyres when replacing the original set.
