Tuning specialist Brabus is fitting the Continental SportContact 7 to two limited edition sportscars at the Essen Motor Show 2023. WhatTyre’s Tyre of the Year in 2022 was “developed for extreme challenges,” according to Conti’s head of tuning tyres in Germany, Michael Schneider. The “sportiest Continental tyre of all time” certainly proves its worth on the 900-hp Brabus Rocket R Limited Edition and 750-hp Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition, both of which are limited to 25 models.
The Brabus Rocket R Limited Edition offers a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm, resulting in 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds. The coupé’s 196.8cm wide carbon body fits extra-wide 21 and 22-inch wheels with high-performance tyres up to 335mm wide. The car runs on the Continental SportContact 7 in sizes 255/45 ZR 21 (front) and 335/45 ZR 22 (rear).
Meanwhile the Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition, named after the company founder, has an eight-cylinder biturbo, which delivers 900 Nm of maximum torque. The two-seater roadster, based on the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+, accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. This is delivered to the road by 275/35 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 SportContact 7 tyres mounted on Monoblock II evo Platinum Edition three-spoke wheels on the front and rear axles respectively. Sports springs specially matched to the tyres lower the vehicle by around 25 millimetres.
“The lowered centre of gravity makes the handling even more agile without compromising comfort,” adds Schneider. “At the same time, the perfect coordination with the tyres optimises active safety.”
