BMW Group has announced that the second generation of its BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will arrive in March 2025, promising that the car will set “a new standard in the premium compact segment.” Order books are now open in the UK, with prices starting at £34,915 on the road. BMW has approved a range of tyres for UK deliveries, including run-flat and winter tyres.
Cars delivered with 17-inch rims have a choice of three summer tyre models – the Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric 6, Maxxis HP6A, and Nexen N’Fera Sport. A BMW-approved winter tyre is also available, the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3. All 17-inch tyres are size 205/55 R17; the summer tyres Y speed rated and the winter tyre H rated.
Eight tyre options are available for cars wearing 18-inch rims. All summer tyres are size 225/45 R18 Y and include the Bridgestone Turanza 6, Continental SportContact 7, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, Maxxis HP6A and Nexen N’Fera Sport. The Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 provides a run-flat option in this size. Once again, the Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3 satisfies demand for a winter fitment, this time with in 225/45 R18 H.
In the 19-inch rim diameter category, BMW has approved seven tyre models for the latest 2 Series Gran Coupé. These are the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in size 225/40 R19 Y as well as 235/40 R19 Y. A second Goodyear tyre, the Eagle F1 Supersport, is also available in 235/40 R19 Y. Michelin is present too, with the Pilot Sport Cup 2 in 235/40 ZR19. Those seeking a winter tyre for 19-inch rims can fit the GitiWinterW2 in 225/40 R19 H.
