Bridgestone Blizzak Lm-005 Driveguard

235/45 R17 97V
Launched in early 2019, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 succeeded the LM001, the first of a new generation of Bridgestone winter tyres. The Blizzak LM005 features a new tread pattern and Bridgestone’s new Nano Pro-tech compound. These developments helped Bridgestone produce a tyre among the best available in snow and ice braking and wet grip according to TÜV SÜD tests. This version of the tyre comes with DriveGuard, Bridgestone's technology that extends runflat capabilities to its conventional tyres. It allows drivers to continue to drive on a punctured tyre at lower speeds for around 50 miles. Bridgestone’s Nano Pro-tech high silica content compound helps the LM005 stay soft at very low temperatures. This promotes greater traction. Bridgestone’s new nano-selective compound mixing technology also improve the dispersion of silica for more consistent winter performance. The tyre's tread contains lateral grooves in the shoulder area to enhance the tyre’s digging mechanism on snow and ice. The grooves also optimise the contact pressure of the tyre’s shoulder blocks when braking. An increased void in the centre tread improves water drainage and snow trapping. The tyre’s zig-zag groove pattern also improves the adhesion between the snow in the grooves and the snow on the road.

Highly recommended, Test Winner - Thanks to standard-setting wet performance, the Blizzak is an ideal tyre for British winters, which see far more rain than snow on the road.
