Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport

The sharp end of the performance tyre spectrum is now the domain of the supersport or ultra-ultra-high performance (UUHP) tyre. Completely road legal but also designed to deliver superior performance on the track, these products are tasked with the weighty remit of providing a dynamic yet safe driving experience to the world’s most powerful cars in both wet and dry conditions. Porsche has approved the Goodyear the Eagle F1 SuperSport R as original equipment for the latest Porsche 911 GT3. It will wear size 255/35ZR20 tyres on the front axle and 315/30ZR21 at the rear.

Goodyear and Brabham Automotive rekindled their working relationship in 2019, and have once again teamed up. Goodyear is supplying its Eagle F1 SuperSport RS as original equipment tyre for the road-going version of the Australian-made supercar, the Brabham BT62R.

Four-time BTCC champion Colin Turkington put the latest Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres through their paces ahead of next week’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) opener at Donington.

It’s called Pure ETCR, and it’ll be contested by vehicles equipped with a Williams Advanced Engineering battery unit and 500kW Magelec Propulsion powertrain. This will deliver the equivalent of a staggering 680bhp to the rear wheels, enabling 0 to 100km/h acceleration in just 3.2 seconds. This torquey power will reach the racetrack via products supplied by one of Pure ETCR’s founder partners – Goodyear.

The name Goodyear has been absent from motorsport outside North America for a while now. This will change on Sunday. Goodyear says it is “well prepared” for its comeback after conducting 7,500 miles of tests at seven circuits.
