Bridgestone and Kwik Fit have extended their partnership with the British Motor Show (15-18 August 2024 at Farnborough International) for a further two years. The tyre manufacturer first attended the event in 2022. In 2024, partnering with Kwik Fit, Bridgestone will be the official tyre partner of The British Motor Show as well as being the exclusive partner sponsor of the Motorsport and Modified Arena and Hall at the event.

Bridgestone will return to a FIA World Championship for the first time in a decade-and-a-half when it begins delivering tyres to Formula E starting in the 2026/27 season. The company will succeed Hankook as the sole tyre supplier under an agreement that covers 2026-2027 through 2029-2030. The Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten summer touring tyre will be available from January 2024. Manufacturer Bridgestone says the new tyre offers “best-in-class wet grip” as well as longer mileage and 10 per cent better fuel and energy-efficiency. The sequel to the cornerstone of Firestone's revamped car tyre range integrates Bridgestone’s Enliten technology. This reduces material consumption and tyre weight, while increasing wear resistance with Bridgestone's NanoPro-Tech high-silica compound. All this makes the Roadhawk 2 Enliten an “EV-ready tyre”: a tyre suitable for fitment on vehicles using and electric or conventional combustion engine powertrain. The tyre's initial range of 17-21” sizes will cover 90 per cent of sizes in the market, Bridgestone says. 16” sizes will join the Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten range in 2025 for a total of 112 size variations.

Bridgestone spread the tyre safety message to hundreds of motorists in October at two events. The tyre manufacturer conducted free tyre safety checks and distributed informational postcards at Roadchef’s Norton Canes Services on the M6 Toll in Staffordshire on 19 October, and at Ireland’s Japfest in Mondello Park, where it encouraged young drivers to get into the habit of checking their tyres regularly. The postcards were designed to emphasise the importance of checking tyres and highlight that each vehicle has only four contact patches with the road and they featured safety tips and maintenance advice for future reference.

Renault has now facelifted the fifth-generation Clio to give it a “bold, fresh style and added sportiness.” The freshened model is available in the UK in three trim levels, Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine.
